Tim Gunn
I love fashion, and I want you to feel the same way. Psoriasis is a serious condition, but it doesn’t have to define who you are or how you present yourself to the world.

Prior to joining Liz Claiborne Inc., he served as a member of the administration and faculty at Parsons The New School for Design for close to 24 years and has had a rich history with the institution. He currently is Honorary Chair of Fashion Design at the school.

Gunn became involved in the Addressing Psoriasis™ campaign because he is passionate about everyone looking and feeling confident. Whether or not psoriasis impacts your personal style, here are some of Tim's tips to help you dress to impress:

  • Classic Button-down Shirt—The white shirt is a versatile piece that is essential to one's wardrobe.
Tip: To dress it up, women can open the neckline slightly to reveal a fabulous necklace. To dress it down after work or on the weekend, men can roll up their sleeves.
  • Jeans—Invest in the perfect pair of jeans. They go with everything and can carry you through every season.
Tip: Sizes vary from store to store. To find the perfect pair of jeans, don't get hung up on what size it is—buy what fits. You can always cut the size tag off later.
  • Jacket—Don't underestimate the power of a great-fitting jacket or blazer.
Tip: Comfort may tempt you to go with a loose-fitting jacket, but keep it structured. You'll be surprised how comfortable you feel when you see how great you look.
  • Basic Black Dress—While black can be a challenging color for people with plaque psoriasis, this is a style staple for many women. If you are comfortable wearing black, remember that even if the dress is basic you can make it your own by adding your favorite accessories.
Tip: The most flattering length for any color dress is mid-calf to right above the knee.
