Tae Hyung Ku

New York, NY
Fourth Year, Fashion Design Major / Knitwear Specialization

Tae Hyung’s creative inspiration comes from her desire to use fashion to bring societal matters to the forefront of people’s minds. Her designs generally rely on geometric shapes and avant-garde silhouettes to convey her vision and purpose. To expand her fashion viewpoint, Tae Hyung has held numerous fashion internships, most recently working alongside a famed apparel designer. Tae Hyung also enjoys exploring eco-friendly fashion and is currently rallying her classmates to begin an eco-friendly fashion cooperative. Tae Hyung’s humanitarian nature is what drew her to participate in the Addressing Psoriasis™ Fashion Show. She sees the fashion show as a great design opportunity, but also as a way to help people enjoy fashion, even when faced with a chronic condition that affects their skin. Tae Hyung states, "I want to help raise awareness of psoriasis and how the disease can impact a person’s daily life. I'm excited to create a garment that will not only make someone feel confident, but also make them feel comfortable!"
