Tatiana Baibabaeva

New York, NY
Fourth Year, Fashion Design Major

Tatiana's Russian background certainly influences her passion for fashion and art. As a teenager growing up in Russia, Tatiana learned to sew and design clothing. She dreamed of moving to New York City to attend FIT and pursue a career in fashion; she feels very fortunate that she is on her way to accomplishing this goal. At FIT, Tatiana has grown as a designer through her class work and year-long internship with a well-known fashion designer. Tatiana's designs were recently featured in the 2009 Fusion Fashion Show and the 2009 "Runways of the Universe" Fashion for Philanthropy event, whose proceeds benefited the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Tatiana also was selected as the winner of the 2009 Critics' Award for her entry in one of FIT's fashion exhibition. Tatiana says, "When someone is suffering from low self-esteem, clothing can help build confidence," and she hopes to help the winners of the Addressing Psoriasis™ Fashion Show do just that.
