Nearly 7 million Americans suffer from psoriasis, a chronic disease of the immune system that causes the skin cells to grow at an accelerated rate. Although there are several types of psoriasis, approximately 80 percent of patients suffer from plaque psoriasis, which causes itchy red, scaly patches, which may be painful. Plaque psoriasis is a chronic medical condition that can have a significant impact on the lifestyle of those who live with the disease, including their personal style.
Although Tim doesn't have psoriasis, he is an advocate for everyone looking and feeling their most confident. That's why he has joined the Addressing Psoriasis™ campaign to help people with psoriasis get more information about managing their disease and feel more confident in their everyday style. Eight people with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis won a trip to New York City to help raise awareness of psoriasis and walked the runway in the Addressing Psoriasis™ Fashion Show hosted by Tim on September 2, 2009.
